1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy governs what creators may publish and how supporters may interact with Fosteo. By using the platform, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without prior notice.
2. Permitted Creator Categories
Fosteo is designed for independent creators in the following categories:
- Writers, journalists, and bloggers
- Musicians, producers, and audio creators
- Visual artists, illustrators, and photographers
- Software developers and open-source maintainers
- Educators, researchers, and course creators
- Podcasters and video creators
- Designers and creative professionals
- Community builders and newsletter authors
Creators outside these categories may apply for access. Fosteo reserves the right to approve or reject any account at its sole discretion.
3. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on Fosteo:
- Adult, sexually explicit, or pornographic content of any kind
- Content depicting or promoting violence, self-harm, or abuse
- Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
- Harassment, doxxing, or targeted abuse of any individual
- Misinformation, deepfakes, or synthetic media designed to deceive
- Content that violates any third-party intellectual property rights
- Content involving minors in any inappropriate context
- Spam, unsolicited promotions, or low-quality AI-generated bulk content
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or impersonation of any person or entity
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other financial crime
- Using Fosteo to facilitate illegal transactions or services
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, or fraudulent investment solicitation
- Operating gambling, betting, or games of chance through the platform
- Selling or promoting regulated substances, weapons, or controlled goods
- Attempting to circumvent platform security, rate limits, or abuse detection systems
- Creating multiple accounts to evade suspension or platform restrictions
- Soliciting supporters to transact outside the Fosteo platform to avoid fees
5. Sanctions & Restricted Jurisdictions
Fosteo operates in compliance with U.S. economic sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Creators and supporters located in, or nationals of, any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions — including but not limited to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions — are prohibited from using the platform.
Fosteo reserves the right to block, freeze, or terminate any account associated with a sanctioned jurisdiction or individual, and to withhold any pending revenue-share balances pending regulatory review.
6. Digital Perk Requirements
All creators must configure at least one digital perk, thank-you deliverable, or community access benefit before their page is eligible to receive supporter payments. Digital perks must be delivered promptly and accurately as described. Misrepresenting the nature or value of digital perks constitutes fraud and may result in immediate termination.
7. Supporter Conduct
Supporters transact as guests and do not require an account. Supporters may not use Fosteo's payment infrastructure to harass creators, initiate fraudulent chargebacks, or exploit refund and dispute mechanisms in bad faith. Fosteo reserves the right to block supporters who engage in abusive payment behavior.
8. Intellectual Property
Creators retain ownership of their content. By publishing on Fosteo, creators grant Fosteo a limited, non-exclusive license to display and distribute their content solely for the purpose of operating the platform. Fosteo does not claim ownership of any creator content.
Creators must not publish content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party. Repeated IP violations will result in permanent account termination.
9. Enforcement
Fosteo reserves the right to investigate any suspected violation of this policy. Enforcement actions may include content removal, account suspension, permanent termination, withholding of pending revenue-share balances, and referral to relevant law enforcement authorities where required.
Fosteo's failure to enforce any provision of this policy in a specific instance does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce it in the future.
10. Reporting Violations
If you believe a creator or piece of content violates this policy, please contact us at hi@fosteo.com. Fosteo reviews all reports and takes appropriate action at its discretion.
11. Changes to This Policy
Fosteo may update this policy as the platform evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice.
